More Information and Details on FINE and its Components

 

 

  FINE, the integrated software environment, produces in a fast and reliable way the complete case study output of any building services project. FINE consists of two components, synergistically cooperating between each other, the CAD component and the Calculations component.

 

CAD COMPONENT
 

The CAD Component of FINE embeds IntelliCAD engine, providing full autonomy to its user. It recommends and draws projects through automated commands, the most important of which are listed below:

  Automatic Receptor Installation: FINE/AutoFINE expert automatically installs on the ground plan radiators, fan coils, air-duct grills as well as illuminants and switches etc. Moreover, this procedure follows expert intelligence rules, which are open to the user's preferences (e.g. radiator preference order, window height control, limit for additional radiator etc). The installation may also concern receptor systems on grids (e.g. sprinklers, illuminants, grills etc on grid) while detailed ground plan layouts are automatically created.
     
  Automatic Pipe Drawing commands (autorouting): The commands "Double Pipe" (e.g. induction – return) or "Cables" "Parallel to Wall" or "Parallel to Points" etc accelerate significantly the installation drawing while all connections are automatically created through the "magic" autorouting commands (e.g. 2-3 movements are enough to connect a network of illuminants to the main panel or a sprinkler group to the vertical column or gas devices to the chimneys).

To make things even easier, whenever required, these commands are specialized in each application (e.g. only one movement is required to "Create Circuit" in the Single-Pipe Heating System application, to "Automatically Connect receptors to Collectors" and "Connect Receptors to Siphon" in the Plumbing Network application).

Automatic Calculations directly from Drawings

For each E/M Installation the program creates fully automatically from ground plans:

Complete Calculation Issue: The complete calculation issue is created for each project. In particular:

 

Through the subsystem AutoBLD the spaces are identified so that Thermal Losses, Cooling Loads and Heat Insulation are automatically calculated. This is possible even if the ground plan comes from another architectural package (DWG or DXF file) or a scanner (bitmap file), thanks to the "smart" identification commands.

     
  Through the subsystem AutoNET the E/M installations (pipes, cables etc) are identified and each network is transferred with its number in the calculation sheets, where it is immediately calculated providing the complete calculation issue.
     
  Vertical Charts: They are created from the ground plan fully automatically and in detail. Moreover, the user is enabled to select engine-room, legends, labels etc.
     
  Detailed Drawings: They are created from the required drawings, as for example the automatic conversion of the Air-duct network from linear into two-dimensional (with the dimensions resulted in calculations).
     
    Symbols on Ground Plans: Symbols and Designations (e.g. Single-Pipe System arrows, junction points – pipe connection circles, column direction arrows, up-down legends, comments etc) are also automatically inserted, perfecting the project drawings.

     
    Automated special tasks: For example, automatic calculation of Ventilation in Fuel Gas application, line numbering management in the Electrical Installations application, symbol legends etc.


     
     

CALCULATIONS COMPONENT
(ADAPT/FCALC)
  The Calculations Component of FINE (called also as ADAPT/FCALC) incorporates the more reliable calculating environment and the more solid scientific background. The package is granted highly among Electrical-Mechanical Engineers since it comprises the more reliable and guaranteed solution in Electrical-Mechanical Applications and the more valid program in Urban Planning. The recent version incorporates many innovations that verify its leading part.
 
Methodological Completeness
  ADAPT/FCALC is the only package that, following the International Standards and Regulations, enables the user to select the applying methodology (e.g. Carrier - Ashrae CLTD - Ashrae TFM Methods in Air-conditioning Loads, DIN77 - DIN 83 in Thermal Losses, Method of Equal Velocities - Equal Pressures - Static Regain in Air-ducts, VDI in Electrical Installations etc).
